During a ceremony held in Nashville on Tuesday (March 25), Kenny Chesney, June Carter Cash, and Tony Brown were named as the newest class of inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Chesney – who has amassed 33 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits and received four Entertainer of the Year awards from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music – will be recognized in the modern era artist category. June Carter Cash – an influential member of country music royalty, The Carter Family, and the wife and collaborator of music legend Johnny Cash – will be honored in the veteran’s era artist category. Brown – a prominent producer and label executive who is a six-time Grammy-winner, member of the Gospel Music hall of Fame, and recipient of ACM’s Icon Award and the Americana Music Association’s lifetime achievement award – will be inducted in the non-performer category.
