The shelter shares with us, “Murray is a 2 ½ year old male Terrier/Dachshund mix & 16 lbs of love. He has a pretty calm and laid-back personality though can be a little bossy with dogs smaller than him. But he wants to be close to people, loves treats, likes hanging outside and would love to learn what life INSIDE a home with a family is all about.”

Humane Society of Elmore County adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats under one-year-old; cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.

To meet all the great pets visit the shelter located at 255 Central Plank Road in Wetumpka, AL. They’re open for adoptions Monday through Friday, 10am-5pm and Saturday, 9am–4pm.
