All of us at I-92 WLWI love our pets, and know so many loving dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Elmore County would love to have their forever home with a loving family. That’s why we’re stepping up to create awareness with the Pet of the Week campaign.

Here’s our latest Pet of the Week! The shelter shares, “Luna is a female Dachshund mix, ten-years old, 16 lbs.  When she came to us she was heartworm positive, needed spayed & was in bad need of a dental.  She has been out in foster & only in our office as she went through her many Vet visits.  She is now ready to find her forever home and she is a very sweet lady indeed.  She is generally good with other dogs, BUT can be very bossy and jealous of other dogs (especially over food/treats but not with us humans) so would be best as an only dog getting all the attention or maybe with one bigger than her.  We were told she is great with children, she is also good with cats, and yes, she is housetrained.”

The adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats under one-year-old; cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.
