All of us at I-92 WLWI love our pets, and know so many loving dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Elmore County would love to have their forever home with a loving family. That’s why we’re stepping up to create awareness with the Pet of the Week campaign.
Here’s our latest Pet of the Week! The shelter shares, “Zeus is a two-year old male Husky, about 70 lbs, surrendered to us for being an escape artist and chasing livestock. He is a striking boy with one blue and one gold eye. Loves to go for rides, good with children and dogs but NOT good with cats, chickens or livestock. Huskies can definitely be escape artists but we can say he has shown no inclination to escape our kennels here in the Shelter – BUT we don’t have livestock around to entice him, so perhaps being a city dog would be best for Zeus.”
The adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats under one-year-old; cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.
If you are interested in meeting the Pet of the Week or any of the shelter’s pets, the first step is the Adoption Application you can do here: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html . Once approved, they will coordinate with you to set up an appointment to meet & adopt.
