I-92 WLWI invites you to the 2021 YMCA Strides for Kids 5K Dash on Saturday, April 17th at the Emory Folmar YMCA Soccer Complex in Montgomery! Whether you want to run, walk or crawl, just join I-92’s Greg Thomas for a fun spring morning supporting the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign!

By working together, we can have an impact that is felt far beyond simple dollars and cents. We have the chance to build something amazing: the spirit, mind, and body of an entire community. During the pandemic, the YMCA began to operate in overdrive helping our community when they needed it most. They provided essential childcare to those working on the front lines who were working around the clock to keep our community safe and found themselves in desperate need of childcare for their children. They also serve nearly 500,000 meals per year to children who wouldn’t otherwise know where their next meal may come from. During the pandemic, their Brown Bag Bus (the YMCA’s mobile feeding unit) served 1,000 children daily who were out of school and lost their lifeline to their scheduled lunches each day.

Their goal is that no one is denied an opportunity to participate in YMCA programs, because of the inability to pay, feed more kids and expand our outreach programs in underserved areas of our community.
