All of us at I-92 WLWI love our pets, and know so many loving dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Elmore County would love to have their forever home with a loving family. That’s why we’re stepping up to create awareness with the Pet of the Week campaign.
Here’s our latest Pet of the Week! The shelter shares, “Dorothy is a special needs lady, ten years old, 50 lbs and worth the ‘extra.’ She came to us in pitiful condition and is now doing fantastic. She is housetrained, walks wonderfully on a leash, is great with other dogs of all sizes and both sexes, is good with cats. She eats in her crate but prefers sleeping in the bed with her human. She is perfect in the house, quiet, but also quite playful. Her special needs are that she has a condition called Cushings requiring daily medications and is on a long-term treatment for heartworms. Dorothy deserves a loving home that can see to her medical needs and she will repay with a ton of love.”
Adoption fees are $100 for dogs & $50 for cats under one-year-old; cats over one-year-old can be adopted by approved adopters for a fee of their choosing. This adoption fee completely covers the mandatory spay or neuter, basic immunizations, de-worming, microchip, heartworm check for dogs, rabies vaccination if old enough, free health exam with your participating veterinarian.
If you are interested in meeting any of our pets, please first email the shelter at [email protected].
