Christmas Lights Festival 2020 at Montgomery Zoo

One of the River Region’s favorite holiday traditions is here for 2020, it’s the 29th Annual Christmas Lights Festival at Montgomery Zoo! Happening nightly through December 25th!

New to the festival this year is the Christmas Tree Village, sponsored by Guardian Credit Union, in the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum. The museum will be lined with trees decorated by area businesses and organizations leading the way to Santa’s new workshop. A socially distant experience with Santa is available through December 23rd. Keepsake photos are available for purchase for $5.

Masks will be required inside any building such as the museum, gift shops, restrooms and Overlook Café, as well as while in line for the train.

Gates open at nightly at 5:30 PM with the last admission at 9:00 PM. Gates close promptly at 9:30 PM. Each admission includes entry to Lights Festival, the Christmas Tree Village, a visit with Santa, and entertainment at the Overlook Pavilion.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

Regular Festival Admission: $10 (ages 3 years old and older).

Toddlers 2 years and younger are FREE.

Montgomery Zoo members: FREE

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS FESTIVAL ATTRACTIONS

Train ride: $3 per person, per ride

Visits with Santa through December 23: FREE

Photos with Santa: $5 per photo

EARLY BIRD ADMISSION

Families can enjoy a full day and evening of activities with the Early-Bird Admission Combo. Combo tickets are $25 (ages 3 and up) and include regular admission to the Zoo to see the animals as well as a visit to the Christmas Lights Festival that evening.

ENTERTAINMENT

Performers and entertainment groups will help bring in the holiday spirit with the gift of dance, song, and music on select nights. Groups comprise of local schools, church organizations, clubs, dance troops, local musicians, storytellers and more. It is always fun, entertaining, and a great way to help usher in the joy, lights, and sounds of the holiday season. The entertainment schedule will be posted on montgomeryzoo.com as dates are confirmed, so check back often to see who we have added.

OTHER INFORMATION TO NOTE

• The petting zoo animals will be in their corral and would love for kids, young and old, to stop by and give them a snack through the fence. Feed packs will be available for purchase in the vending machine adjacent to the petting zoo.

• The Overlook Café will be open and serving regular menu items through 8:00 PM each evening.

• The Zoo and Museum will be closed on Christmas Day to allow our employees to spend the day with their families, but gates will open that night at 5:30 PM to enjoy the last night of the festival.
