Mardi Gras Festivals in the River Region

You don’t have to travel to New Orleans this weekend to have Mardi Gras fun! There are a couple of events happening right here in the River Region on Saturday, February 18th!

First up, the Millbrook Revelers present a Mardi Gras Festival and Parade! A day of fun which continues to grow and is called a “must attend” event in Alabama and the largest Mardi Gras celebration north of Mobile. The festival grounds featuring over 60 vendors open at 9AM on Saturday at the Village Green on Main Street in Millbrook. The parade will start at Noon, and will feature your very own I-92 (a proud sponsor)!

Check out this video posted on the Millbrook Revelers Facebook page, looking all festive!

Millbrook’s Mardi Gras Festival and Parade is free to attend. More festival info, click here.

Also going on Saturday in Montgomery, the Mardi Gras Block Party & Cajun Cook Off on Commerce Street. The event organized by Montgomery’s Downtown Business Association.

The Block Party happens from Noon until 5PM. The New Orleans’ Treme Brass Band will perform at 2PM. The event is free, but tickets will be sold for the Cook Off. Those tickets are $15 each, click here to purchase.

This weekend, as they say… laissez les bons temp rouler or let the good times roll!!
